The ICZN code (4th Edition) makes it impossible to make available nomenclatural acts published solely online: in other words, new names published in online journals will not be valid. In order to publish nomenclatural/taxonomic acts without transgressing the present Code the hard copy (paper) version has to be the primary form of publication. Furthermore, these have to be deposited in major publicly accessible libraries, which need to be named as depositories in the paper.

To comply with Article 8.6 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (4th edition), this journal is deposited as hard copy in five archival libraries and the archive of the PalArch Foundation. All of PalArch’s publications are stored in the e-depot of The National Library, The Hague, The Netherlands (www.kb.nl).
